I will confess, there was one line from our tour guides talk about Dunluce Castle that really caught my attention: Dunluce Castle is thought to be the inspiration for Cair Paravel in C. S. Lewis‘s Chronicles of Narnia (1950–54)

He had lots of interesting things to say about the Castle of course, including a story about the kitchen catching fire and dropping off the cliff in to the ocean — but I can easily see how this castle, and the landscape around it, would inspire creative minds.

I wanted to get a nice panorama shot of the castle and surrounding environment, but the lighting on the castle led it to blend in to the cliffside when I tried that… but this is better than no attempt at all.
