American Goldfinch

These American Goldfinches were hanging out at the Halifax Public Gardens when I went to visit — they are small birds (by my estimation) and pretty darn fast when they want to be, but I think I got a few nice shots of them, particularly showing their beautiful yellow feathers.

I will admit, I only knew them to be pretty yellow birds, it was the magic technology (Google Gemini in this case) that took a look at my photo and told me: the birds in the photo are likely American Goldfinches.

These small, bright yellow birds are common in North America and are often seen in parks and gardens. Their bright yellow plumage, black wings, and white patches on their wings make them easily recognizable.
