The April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse was the first time I tried taking pictures of an eclipse. I confess, I am happy with some of the shots I got.
I ordered a cardboard looking filter, and pulled out a camera I retired (read replaced) last year, so if I made any mistakes and damaged the camera it was a no harm no foul situation.
As was the case for a lot of people in the eclipse path, it was a cloudy day. I was watching for glimpses between the clouds, and sometimes was able to use the clouds as a filter, which gave an entirely different look to the eclipse.

I typically approach photography as, “this is a grand experiment,” and “I hope I get something worth sharing with some friends or family.”
With that in mind, part of me was amazed when I went back to look at my photos and realized I had captured not only the totality, but also what looks to be “the moon in motion” 🌖

These last two might be better with some “post-production”, but I opted to keep them as they came out of the camera since they are grainy enough as is, and I doubted my limited photo-editing skills would sharpen them.
Yup, someday I might learn some photo editing skills, at this point the closest I get is stitching panorama pictures is the closest I get.
